As I return to the position of Headmaster that I held from 1986 thru 2000 I see that although things have changed they have also stayed the same. Upon entering the campus one can feel the warmth and charm of a small school rich with values. Students respect one another, their school, teachers, and staff nurturing what others have left in order for them to excel. Students are blessed with a faculty ready to teach and expand their minds, heart and soul. The spirit of the school is enhanced by parents working together for the common good of the school and a Board of Trustees eager to enrich the school striving to meet the financial needs of the school. These things have not changed.
Lawrence Academy is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) in the State of North Carolina and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). This change took place in the spring of 2010 as the faculty, staff, parents, and Board of Trustees prepared year long for the review that took place in April and May of 2010 resulting in Accreditations. Other changes that have occurred to enhance the educational experience are the addition of staff to include an Assistant Headmaster, Curriculum Coordinator & Lead Teacher for Lower School , Director of Institutional Advancement & Admissions to compliment the Director of Finance & Facility, Director of Guidance, Director of Athletics, Technology Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant to the Headmaster allowing for more growth and stability at all levels of a Pre-K thru 12 School.
Come and be a part of the Lawrence experience.
Thomas E. Gregory,
Headmaster Lawrence Academy
