On behalf of our faculty, staff, and student body, I’m pleased to provide you a snapshot of Lawrence Academy. Founded in 1968, the strive for “Excellence in Education” began, and continues ever stronger today. Students at Lawrence are offered a vast array of opportunities that are unmatched in area public schools. Based on the liberal arts model, students at LA focus on academics, athletics, the arts, travel, and service. Explore further and find out why “we define success!”
Founded on Judeo-Christian values, Lawrence provides a safe, nurturing environment where students and families come together to enhance the educational program. A true independent school, Lawrence uses the triangle method of student – faculty – family to achieve students greatest potential. Our statistics and success speak for themselves, with growth in several areas planned for the future. Now is an exciting time to be involved in the #WarriorNation!
Widely known across the state as a premiere independent school in northeast North Carolina, I urge you to browse through our website, and view our facebook page, to get a basic picture of all things that are happening at LA. From Pre-K to 12th grade, students are enriched in core academics, cultural studies, STEAM, FFA, FCA, Internships, music appreciation, drama, and patriotism. Each day at LA begins with The Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
The climate at Lawrence (sometimes affectionately called LA) is conducive not only to learning but personal growth as well. Our faculty and staff spend time getting to know each student, promoting a sense of well-being, comfort, and sincerity you can’t find everywhere. Our team of teachers are building an inclusive faculty, helping to track and aid students as they grow. I am a firm believer it is the faculty and staff that make a school what it is, not the brick and mortar walls that surround them.
I hope that you will experience what it means to be in the WarriorNation, that LA stands for Leaders & Achievers, and why we say everyday is a great day to be at LA!
Take care for now and God bless,
Jason K. Wynne
