The goals of the Boyd Memorial Library of Lawrence Academy are to assist students and teachers to locate, evaluate, and use information for academics and to encourage the development of good reading skills that are essential to learning and reading for pleasure.
The library is open during school hours daily and has a varied collection of resources for student and teacher research and for pleasure reading. Preschool through fifth grades have regularly scheduled library classes each week. Library skills are taught in a variety of different ways and readings are related to the classroom curriculum. Students also have an opportunity to check out books. Students experience a caring environment and are encouraged to achieve their best.
Computers are available to assist students and teachers with their academic work. All technology rules apply and are enforced. All students may check out materials from the library when needed and are responsible for returning or renewing materials by the due date. When any library materials are damaged or lost, students are responsible for paying for them.
